Christopher Heredia Ramirez, 31, was taken into custody at around 5:30 p.m. after U.S. Customs and Border Enforcement alerted Connecticut State Police about a wanted suspect on board an incoming flight, officials said.

A records check confirmed that Ramirez was the subject of an extraditable warrant issued by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office in Ohio for felony theft charges, according to police.

Once the plane landed, officers quickly arrested Ramirez without incident. He was transported to Troop H in Hartford, where he was booked on a fugitive from justice charge, police said.

Ramirez remains held on a $100,000 bond, police said.

Authorities have not released details about the alleged theft charges from Pennsylvania. The investigation is ongoing.
